I set aside time today to experiment with an external flash unit (Nikon SB-800). I purchased this thing back in the early 1990’s, and have only used it a few times. I decided that I would finally read the manual and learn how to use it. Wow. Within thirty seconds, I was feeling confused and overwhelmed. I eventually grasped what it meant to adjust exposure on the flash unit itself — at least I think I did — and today’s image is a four-shot example from the resultant experimentation.
